Origami….

Over Spring Break we drove up to Lawrence, home of the University of Kansas.    Lawrence is about a 45 minute drive from us and both my husband and I went to school there.  We’ve been up there a few times but it’s always been too cold to take the kids on campus.  This day we finally got our chance.  As we were walking on campus there was a table set up with college students taking donations for Japan for the American Red Cross.  I gave each of my kids a dollar and in return they were given origami birds…

They are scattered throughout my bookcase and when I look at them I remember the look on my kids and the college students faces.   When we circled around their table on our way back, they were smiling and waving at my 4 year old riding on his daddy’s shoulders “ flying” his new bird…

That's such a great idea! My husbands uncle makes these for my children every time we see him - they're thought to be good luck.
